SAMUEL D. COHEN (improviser)
has spent the last 18 years living and working in New York City where he has been seen on and off Broadway, as well as regionally. During that time, he has worked as an actor and director in everything from Shakespeare to improvisational theater. In addition to watching Sam make up brand-new musicals weekly, New York audiences can currently see him in GOLF: The Musical at the John Houseman Theatre (whenever one of the regular actors is ill).  He has appeared at the Melting Pot Theatre as Johnny in Mel Marvin’s The Portable Pioneer & Prairie Show and as Jud in Harry Chapin’s Cotton Patch Gospel. He also appeared as Yussle in Yiddle with a Fiddle at the American Jewish Theatre. He has studied at the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts, Carnegie Mellon University, and Penn State University, from which he graduated summa cum laude. In his spare time, he actually writes down some of the music and lyrics he composes.
