SHAKE
DOWN –
a new musical
Opening
night: August 11, 2006
Featuring the hit song:
"Hallucination Tea"
Cinnamon is the leader of a commune. And at her side are her disciples
Nirvana and Moonribbon.
Percoset (aka Margaret) wants to find herself and her inner voice so she
joins the commune against the wishes of her wealthy businessman father
(who joins, too, in order to keep tabs on his daughter's goings on).
There has been a governmental infiltration of the commune by the Parks
Department. Nirvana is in cahoots with Percoset's father. They are trying
to shut down the commune for improper practices.
Tonight is their perfect opportunity to strike. At the monthly ritual,
the ceremonial drinking of the Hallucination Tea, Nirvana and Percoset's
father try to nab Percoset and steal her away from the commune.
Will Percoset learn how to listen to her inner voice and herself? Will
the commune be allowed to stay operational? Are feminist hippies an endangered
species? Will we remember any of this in the morning?
In the end we learn 'Everything's right, Nothing can be wrong, Everything's
right, Chai Chai Bing Bong'.
More tea, anyone?
