YEAST
PARTY - a new musical
Opening
night: August 20, 2005
Featuring the hit song:
"Whore In My BreadBox"
In the '70's, the Lower East Side was a mecca for artists, bohemians and
denizens of the drug culture. But mostly, it was home to a little neighborhood
bakery. It was there that a young girl named Super Nova declared her desire
to move out of the world of face painting and into the realm of a true
artist.
Since life is merely a transaction in which "you give what you knead,
you get what you need", perhaps Super Nova needs to tap in to the
power of baked goods. Their message, delivered by local denizen Conundrum:
all art and all life comes right from the streets, and we are all energy
that just keeps moving through. In order to chase her dream, Super Nova
needs to hit the streets and see what comes back.
Will her descent into adultery with Sashay end in anything but brioche?
Will Conundrum just continue to 'move through', or will he learn
to stop and hang? Will Super Nova find her art?
In the 70's, art happens when you're baked.
